Craig MacGregor Succeeds in Prosecution against Anti-Fracking Protesters

Following an 8 Day trial at Preston Crown Court, Craig MacGregor, instructed by Preston CPS, was successful in securing a conviction against four defendants charged under Public Nuisance laws for an illegal protest at a fracking site in Lancashire.

This is the the first time anti-fracking protesters have been successfully prosecuted under the common law Public Nuisance provisions and could be a way of dealing with campaigners, who cause major disruption, in the future.

Craig is a member of the Criminal / Regulatory team at Cobden House.
