David Sandiford has successfully advised & represented an applicant Police force in seeking and securing a Slavery and Trafficking Risk order.
These civil orders are available where conduct gives rise to a risk of an offence under the Modern Slavery Act 2015 even though there have been no convictions.
The case arose from the treatment of vulnerable Polish nationals by the defendant& had initially resulted in the first interim Slavery & Trafficking Risk Order in the country.
After a 4 day trial the Judge found the conditions & circumstances amounted to servitude.
