Richard Oughton Wins 7 Day Contested Probate Trial

Judgment has been given in Re Doris Harris deceased, Lloyd v Jones [2016] EWHC 1308 (Ch) where Richard Oughton acted for the beneficiaries under a will, who successfully resisted a challenge to the will upon the basis of want of capacity and want of knowledge and approval. The High Court in Birmingham found in a reserved judgment after a 7 day trial that the will was valid. The estate of the deceased was worth at least £750,000 and the attempt of the deceased’s daughter to have the estate administered under the rules of intestacy was defeated.
