Jimmy White Clears His Name

Robert Sterling’s defamation case for Jimmy White, the well-known professional snooker-player, reached a successful  conclusion on the second day of the damages trial at the Royal Courts of Justice last Tuesday, when the defendant, Express Newspapers, agreed to pay Mr White substantial damages. 

Mr White, who gave evidence and was cross-examined, was praised by the Judge, Mr Justice Mitting, as a sportsman of the highest integrity.
