Profile

Bethany joined chambers in October 2023 after successfully completing her specialist family law pupillage under the supervision of Lisa Wilson.

Bethany’s practice has a particular focus on Children Act Proceedings and Family Law Act Proceedings (both private and public law).

She has experience in a wide range of private law proceedings acting for parents and grandparents including dealing with cases with allegations of domestic abuse and welfare disputes. She also has experience representing parents in public law proceedings where the Local Authority seeks removal of the children from the parent’s care.

Bethany has been commended for the way she interacts with clients which can help them feel at ease during difficult proceedings.

Prior to pupillage Bethany worked in a solicitor’s firm specialising in matrimonial finance and private children. She worked predominantly with the inhouse barrister assisting with position statements, orders and attendance notes, as well as conducting research and assisting solicitors.

Additionally, Bethany has a unique experience of public law through her previous role as a respite foster carer and contact supervisor.

Bethany is committed to supporting Advocate (formally the Bar Pro Bono Unit) and has recently been involved in two cases, one where she represented a client at a final hearing.

Outside of law, Bethany enjoys attending music events, spending time with friends and family and travelling when she can.
