Matthew joined Chambers in 2022 after the successful completion of his Business & Property and Housing pupillage and has since developed a growing practice in these areas.

Business & Property

Matthew maintains a particular interest in Business & Property work. Although not exclusively, he is regularly instructed to represent, advise, or draft on the following areas of work:

  • Contractual disputes
  • Commercial leases 
  • Easements and Boundary disputes
  • Insolvency & Bankruptcy matters
  • Defamation claims
  • Company disputes


Housing

Matthew accepts a broad range of instructions in relation to Housing matters which he is regularly instructed on for tenants and private landlords. Matthew’s housing practice is particularly varied, and includes:

  • Possession
  • Anti-Social Behaviour Injunctions
  • Disrepair
  • Succession
  • Tenancy deposit
  • Contempt


Away from Chambers

In his spare time, Matthew is often found bouldering at various climbing gyms, or where time permits outdoors at the crag. He is also a keen musician; hiker; and chef (though is keen to improve).
