We are delighted to welcome Stephen Cox to Cobden House Chambers as a tenant.
Stephen joins us having transferred to the Bar following more than 21 years experience in Family Law.
Having qualified as a solicitor in 2005, Stephen has built extensive experience across private practice and local government, including almost a decade as in-house advocate for a local authority. He brings substantial advocacy experience in complex contested proceedings, having represented local authorities, parents and Children’s Guardians in a wide range of cases.
His experience includes Care Proceedings, fact-finding hearings, child arrangements disputes, domestic abuse, non-accidental injury, fabricated or induced illness (FII), sexual abuse, secure accommodation and deprivation of liberty. He has also acted for parents with capacity issues, including cases where instructions were received through the official solicitor.
Stephen’s breadth of experience, developed from both the solicitor and advocate perspectives, will be a real asset to our Family team and to those we represent.
