Overview

Lekietia completed her pupillage in the Business & Property and Housing departments at Cobden House Chambers and now practises in both areas. She has particular experience in property-related disputes, including residential and commercial landlord and tenant matters, possession proceedings and contractual claims. 

She is a member of the Attorney General’s Junior Junior Panel. 

During pupillage, under the supervision of Sam Keeling-Roberts, Lekietia gained experience across a wide spectrum of housing and business and property matters. She observed and assisted in cases involving possession, trespass, disrepair, unlawful eviction, anti-social behaviour injunctions and committal proceedings, as well as contractual and other property-related disputes. She also gained experience in probate and defamation matters and in proceedings before the First-tier Tribunal (Property Chamber). 

Prior to commencing pupillage, Lekietia worked as a County Court advocate. In this role, she gained practical experience managing a variety of civil disputes in the County Court and attended almost 500 hearings. During her time as an advocate, Lekietia handled matters such as small claims hearings, landlord and tenant disputes, contractual issues, insolvency hearings and mortgage possession proceedings.

Personal Information

Outside of her professional life, Lekietia likes to stay active. She enjoys Brazilian ju-jitsu, swimming and running. Recently, she climbed Mount Snowdon and completed the Manchester Half Marathon, both in support of charitable causes.
