Civil and Family Clerk

Overview

Mitch has been with chambers since joining as the office junior in 2019. Mitch was promoted to Civil Clerk for the Personal Injury / Clinical Negligence department in January 2021, before joining the Business & Property / Family department in September 2022.

Key Responsibilities:

Practice Management: Coordinates the allocation of barristers to cases, ensuring optimal use of resources and timely delivery of services.

Client Liaison: Acts as a primary point of contact for clients, addressing inquiries, and ensuring a high level of client satisfaction.

Billing and Finance: Manages financial aspects, including fee negotiations and billing.

Mitch also deals directly with clients who wish to instruct counsel on a direct access basis, doing relevant background check and discussing the direct access process with them.

Christina Crook and Mitch Bibby are always helpful and happy to assist. As a team, they go above and beyond to ensure the right counsel is found.

Achievements

Since starting at chambers, Mitch has successfully completed his direct access training for clerks, as well as the Introduction to Business Management Course. This programme is recognised by the CMI against the CMI Professional Standards.

Personal Information

In his spare time, Mitch enjoys movies and going to the cinema. He is a regular gym goer and is a keen runner. He has completed a number of half marathons and ran the 2021 Manchester Marathon, raising over £2,500 for Parkinsons UK.

Mitch has taken part in many charity events, including a 24 hour trampoline bounce at the Trafford Centre in 2013, raising over £7,000 for Children in Need.

Mitch is also an avid Bury FC fan, attending as many home and away games as possible – despite the frustrating losses.
