Michael Elders has experience across the full spectrum of personal injury litigation, with advocacy in Multi Track, Fast Track and Small Claims trials. He is regularly instructed in cases at all stages and on all four tracks, including appearances at CCMCs and interlocutory hearings. He is particularly happy to assist with novel or unusual procedural applications.
Michael is well versed in conducting conferences with lay clients and medico-legal experts as well as with professional clients where it is of assistance to set out a road map for the case. He welcomes informal calls in advance of formal instructions.
Michael has advocacy and advisory experience involving RTAs (including fraud and fundamental dishonesty), EL, OL, Highways Act, Product Liability, Dermatitis, Repetitive Lifting, Credit Hire, and Animals Act. He maintains a relatively even split between Claimant and Defendant instructions, giving him a well-rounded background from which he can approach a case.
Michael is also actively developing his practice to include clinical negligence cases and would gladly take further instructions in this area.
Michael’s courtroom advocacy experience began prior to his pupillage where he worked as an advocate in the in-house advocacy team of a nationwide specialist personal injury firm.
Outside of his professional life, Michael played both codes of rugby since he started primary school and enjoys playing chess online and in person when he can find a board and an opponent.
