Richard Hartley KC and Anthony Mazzag have recently obtained High Court Approval for a settlement on behalf of a nine-year-old child who sustained a devastating brain injury in a road traffic accident that occurred at just eight weeks of age.
The Claimant will require lifelong comprehensive care and therapy as well as suitably adapted accommodation. As the Claimant’s parents live separately and the child spends equal time with each of them, the settlement provides for the purchase of two suitably adapted homes. The settlement, comprising a lump sum and periodical payments, is valued in the region of £33,000,000 to £44,000,000 on a capitalised basis depending on life expectancy predictions.
