    • Profile

Chloë joined Chambers in January 2022, moving from a small set in the North East. Before embarking upon her career at the Bar, Chloë was the Operations Manager of her family’s dental practices in Cumbria, Lancashire and Yorkshire. Before her life in dentistry, Chloë worked for MBNA Europe Bank Limited, concluding her banking career as a specialist on an international technology project.

Prior to tenancy and pupillage, Chloë worked as a County Court Advocate for a number of agencies and undertook over 300 hearings in Chambers on the Northern Circuit and beyond. Her early civil practice included small claims and fast track trials, case management conferences, interlocutory applications, property litigation matters and insolvency matters.

Chloë is based in both Manchester and the Lake District. She is a familiar face in particularly the Cumbrian and North Lancashire Courts and other Northern Magistrates and Family Courts.

In the Magistrates Court, Chloë has extensive trial experience, both prosecuting and defending. She is routinely instructed to appear in traffic matters, particularly for ‘totting’ clients who face the prospect of losing their licence. She has successfully prosecuted in matters involving offences against the person, criminal damage, animal cruelty, possession of offensive weapons, motoring offences and supply and possession of drugs.

Chloë is commended by instructing solicitors for her ability to put people at ease, particularly young or exceptionally anxious clients. She is also noted for her ability to get to grips with complex matters quickly.

Chloë’s is instructed by both applicants and respondents from initial direction hearings and multi day fact finding hearings through to contested final hearings. With a family law practice that focusses on private law proceedings, public law proceedings and Family Law Act proceedings and Chloë routinely represents clients in matters such as:

      • Section 8 orders (child arrangement orders, prohibited steps orders and specific issue orders)
      • Allegations of domestic abuse, substance misuse, parental alienation and intractable hostility
      • Family Law Act 1996 (non-molestation orders, occupation orders, undertakings)

Chloë is routinely instructed in representing young and/or vulnerable clients who find themselves in challenging circumstances. Chloë is commended by instructing solicitors for her ability to explain the legal process to (often non-English speaking) clients in a digestible way.

Chloë accepts instructions on a private and publicly funded basis, and is pleased to offer representation to all parties.
